THRIFT STORE ADVENTURES: The Super Freak Edition

THRIFT STORE
ADVENTURES:
The Super
Freak Edition
_____________________

The thrift store environment
is one of only three settings
in which I feel completely
comfortable — safe, secure
and truly happy. However,
there often can be a dark
side to the experience.

There's nothing even remotely freaky
about thrift store figurines. Right?
When I'm not in my office
writing, at church worshipping
or meditating at Starbucks,
I'm typically out on a thrifting
excursion — shopping 'til
I'm dropping. It's just how I
roll. Where else can you walk
in with $20, buy three fabulous
blouses, a groovy new bag, a
couple of Green Acres VHS
tapes, and still have enough
left over to grab a 99¢ bean
burrito on the way home? But
like I said, the experience can
get a little bit freaky.

FYI, thrift store dolls are
EXTREMELY freaky.

And they are freaky
ALL THE TIME!

They're coming to get me, Doc.
I'm telling you, they're coming!

How about wigs?

Corsets?

Condoms? Lube?
At a thrift store?
That is freaky.
Geez, what's next
— paddles?

Apparently so!
(Granny is super freaky!)

Well, at least thrift store
teddy bears aren't freaky.

Are they?

Special thanks to my new friends at In the Pink
thrift store in Melbourne, Florida for the wonderful
hospitality. It's one of my fave new destinations and
totally worth checking out. ("Like" them on Facebook
