Featuring vocalist Halina Larsson, drummer Chris Pennie (Coheed and Cambria and The Dillinger Escape Plan), guitarist Brett Aveni and bassist Michael Depko, Tórild is an exciting new experimental electronic band hailing from New York. Tórild's sound has been described as "beautiful and haunting." Stylistically, Tórild has been compared to the likes of Björk, Massive Attack and DJ Shadow.

I've been buddies with drummer Chris Pennie for some time and I'm amped about his new project. The band currently is playing the New York area club scene while completing their debut record, Born New — and they need your help.

Record production, manufacturing and promotion are expensive endeavors indeed. But thanks to the popular KICKSTARTER fundraising site, fans can play a personal role in financing Tórild's project. Although the majority of their financial goal has been met, a small gap remains, and time is running out. The funds will go towards financing the mixing and mastering phase for their upcoming Born New record as well as for the manufacturing of a limited edition 7" single for the song "Like Oceans." Funds raised that exceed the band's $3,000 goal will go towards an oh-so crucial marketing campaign. The band is all over the Net and I invite you to check them out:
