BOOK REVIEW: "A Better Way to Pray" by Andrew Wommack

A BETTER WAY TO PRAY
Andrew Wommack
(Harrison House Publishers)

Andrew Wommack is one of my favorite authors. Simply put, he addresses my personal primary passions  — enhancing my relationship with Christ, developing my prayer life and building my  faith  — all through  increasing my understanding of God's Word.

So then faith cometh by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)

Through A Better Way to Pray, Wommack grabs the bull by the horns in his typical, no-nonsense, easy-to-read, conversational style  — boldly debunking religious myths regarding prayer and faith. But it's this unique, downhome, good ol' Texas boy sensibility that makes him so effective.

Wommack states in the introduction that his message does not present the only way to pray, but  rather a better way. Hence, one can be assured that his mission is not to preach, but simply to share his perspectives — and yes, there is a BIG difference.

Does God answer all prayers? Why hasn't He answered mine? Is it God's will to heal Aunt Claire? How? What? Why? When? We likely all have struggled with these questions at some point in our lives. And Wommack tackles them all, head-on  — backing up his positions with relevant scriptures.

God answers every prayer that's according to His Word.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Mark 11:24 (KJV)

But Womack doesn't mince words, confessing from the get-go that he might "step on a few toes." However, I found A Better Way to Pray to be incredibly enlightening — offering bold and honest revelations that have opened my eyes to that very "better" way to pray. Life-changing indeed!
