The Brevard Live Music
Awards ceremony
(the BMAs) has
become
recognized
widely as THE party
of the year for Florida's
east coast music
scene and I'm delighted
to be returning as
this year's host.

Since 2004, thousands have attended this annual hometown version of the Grammys. People arrive dressed to impress — some even renting limos for the "big city" celebration.
This year’s event will offer musicians and
fans alike the same fun-filled, entertaining experience that they’ve come to
expect from previous BMA ceremonies — including live performances from some the area’s top
singer/songwriters.

| Les Dudek's 1976 Columbia Records debut. |
2012's special guest performer is legendary guitarist Les Dudek. A
longtime Florida resident, Les has played on many of my all-time favorite
records such as Boz Scaggs’ Silk Degrees,
The Steve Miller Band’s Fly Like an Eagle
as well as Brothers & Sisters
from The Allman Brothers Band — to name just a few. Les’ impressive career has
additionally seen the release of several successful solo albums for Columbia
Records. Over the years he has also toured, recorded and/or performed with the
likes of Stevie Nicks, Steppenwolf, Dave Mason, Toto, and Cher. As a rock and
roll kid of the seventies who grew up listening to Les’ music and watching him
on TV, it’s been a real privilege and honor to hang out with him a bit recently.
We clicked immediately and I’m psyched to be working with him
this year. FYI — his German accent is almost
as good as mine!

| I'm thrilled to have the lovely Janelle Wilson on board as this year's "Vanna White." |
This year's house band will feature former BMA winners Joe Calautti (guitar/vocals), Tom Willett (bass), Sam Hill (drums) and Steve Mazzi (sax). Simply put, this is a great band!
Oh yeah, let’s not forget about the numerous awards that will be
handed out to lucky winners in various categories — including the coveted "Entertainer of the Year" honor.
It all happens on
Monday, August 27th at 6pm at Melbourne, Florida’s fabulous
Henegar Center for the Performing Arts.
Tickets are now on sale at the usual area outlets for just $10. Proceeds benefit the Brevard Music Aid foundation — a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to area musicians in need. A great cause, to be sure!
